13th January 2025 Hiking - Walking: Around Felixstowe Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: 6 Sea Temperature: Weather: breifly sunny then mainly cloudy Max Speed: Distance Covered: Monday 13th January - walks ** – Around Felixstowe – briefly sunny then mainly cloudy but milder. Walk 1 – sunrise at the Ferry. First the first time for awhile we had no frost this morning I decided to drive down to Felixstowe Ferry to catch the sunrise, there was a big bank of black cloud inland but it was still fairly clear out to sea. I stopped briefly by the jetty and walked to the fishing boats and got a few nice pics as the Deben was like a mirror, the breeze did pick up to around 12 knots, nearly enough for a foil but still only 6 degrees so gave it a miss. I then parked just past the small chapel and walked to the Martello Tower in time to see the sun come up, got some nice pics of the golden light on the sea wall and was pleased to get one on ITV’s About Anglia:) and another was choosen as a BBC editers pick but sadly not used on the telly:( Home for a warming cuppa and sort out my pics. For cuppa, Walk 2 – around Felixstowe. Had a nice morning at home, I did my exercises and Mag even managed to do some tidying up joined by our playful cats. A quick bite to eat before we set off for our daily walk, just a quick stroll down to Felixstowe pier and along to the Spa theatre and up along the pram walk, stopping at the card shop, home for a cuppa, cake and a hot water bottle, very rock and roll!
